Kerry Kolke-Bonk, Artist Bio
Kerry Kolke-Bonk began her painting career at Appleton High School with her first sale of an acrylic painting to her English teacher.
She attended Willmar Area Vocational Technical Institute for Professional Photography but chose to raise her three children rather than a photography career. When she was expecting their second child, Kerry took a watercolor workshop from Rose Edin, and realized she thoroughly enjoyed watercolor painting.
Other watercolorists she has studied with include: Karlyn Holman, DeVaughn Kolke, Dan Mondloch, Joyce Gow, David Rickert, Rollie Kinney, Karen Knutson, Bridget Austin, Calvin deRuyter, Keiko Tanabe, Tom Francesconi, and Grace Haverty.
Mostly painting in watercolor, Kerry has also enjoyed acrylic painting and has studied with Lana Grow. She also does encaustics, which are a wax paintings on wood.
