Mary Hegland

All forms of artistic expression fascinate me, and I enjoy taking classes to learn new techniquesor to advance in skill. I work in a variety of mediums, especially ones that allow me to include items not usually thought to be ‘artistic.’ These items can include things in nature; rusty metal; paper of all kinds; plastic packaging usually put in the garbage; leftover materials from household projects; and other oddities that fit my needs. My studio space is always somewhat in chaos, as working in one medium inspires work in another one, and so on. Making art is fun and freeing; hopefully that playfulness and joy can be seen in my work.
