Kathleen Marihart, Artist Bio
Kathleen Marihart has explored many forms of art over her lifetime: sewing, quilting, fiber arts, photography, acrylic, watercolor, collage, monoprinting, and inks. Kathleen enjoys combining different art mediums together. She is known for her whimsical images that are vibrant with color and invite the viewer’s imagination to create a story. She especially enjoys using a reverse or negative style of painting. She starts with an abstract painting first, then uses an intuitive eye, and looks for what lives on the canvas and draws the subject forward. Kathleen is an artist and art teacher. She was the owner of The Smallest Art Gallery from 2016 – 2024 in downtown Ortonville which featured regional and out-of-state artists as well as offering classes.
