My first exposure to Rosemaling was watching Nancy Schneck of Milan working towards her Vesterheim Gold Medal in Rosemaling 42 years ago. I started taking Rosemaling classes in 2017 through the Milan village Arts School with Karen Jenson and Clarice Dieter. Other classes have been with Andrea Herkert through the Terrace Mill Foundation Rosemalers and the Wisconsin State Rosemaling Association. Recently I have taken Zoom classes with Lise Lorentzen through Vesterheim located in Decorah, Iowa. I have gravitated towards the Telemark style of Rosemaling using traditional oil paints. All items are done freehand on various types of wood. I sign my items using the ancient Futhark Viking Runes for my initials (KDO).
