Meander Online Art Auction open for preview September 21, 2020

APPLETON, Minn. — When the onset of COVID-19 presented the Meander Arts Crawl with obstacles, the 31 artists involved with the event did what artists always do: They adjusted and came up with a creative idea to keep the popular Arts Crawl alive. Starting Monday, September 21, art lovers from all over the world will be able to preview the locally made art that will be up for online auction starting at noon on Friday October 2nd.

Each artist has chosen up to three pieces for this auction. Auction participants simply have to visit the Auction website by way of the artsmeander.com website or the Meander Facebook page and provide an email address in order to view and bid on 88 different items including paintings, jewelry, stoneware, photographs and more. Contact information for each artist is provided so questions can be asked about items prior to the bidding. Bidding will end on Sunday October 4 at 4 PM.

All auction sales go directly to the artists. The items are only for sale online. Minimum bids must be met for a sale to proceed but bids over the minimum are appreciated by the artists who have pledged to donate up to 20% of their auction sales to local food shelves.

The online auction will showcase and support Meander artists who, in normal times, have looked forward to the Meander to provide a substantial portion of their yearly art sales.

A free brochure detailing the locations and websites of Meander art studios can be obtained by calling 1-866-866-5432. The brochure can also be downloaded at: artsmeander.com. More information can also be found on the Meander Facebook page.
